FAQ
Questions about using a business loan broker
Straight answers about what Andal does as a business credit broker, how we're regulated, and what to expect if you send us an enquiry.
Is Andal a lender?
No. Andal is a credit broker, not a lender. We introduce your business to third-party lenders and finance providers on our panel; any finance offered, and its terms, come from them, not from Andal.
Who does Andal act for?
You, the borrower. Our job is to find finance that suits your business, explain it in plain terms, and leave every decision with you. There is no obligation to proceed with anything we bring back.
Is Andal regulated by the FCA?
Andal acts only for corporate clients: limited companies (Ltd), limited liability partnerships (LLPs), and partnerships of four or more partners. Credit broking is only an FCA-regulated activity where it concerns an "individual" borrower, a definition which, under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) Order 2001, extends to sole traders and to partnerships of two or three people, but not to bodies corporate or to partnerships of four or more. Because Andal only acts for clients outside that definition, we do not hold, and do not need, FCA authorisation for consumer credit to operate. We do not offer personal loans, consumer credit, or any finance to individuals, sole traders, or smaller partnerships.
Who can apply?
Corporate clients in England: limited companies, LLPs, and partnerships of four or more partners. We can't act for sole traders, partnerships of fewer than four partners, or individuals looking for finance in a personal capacity. This is a business finance service for corporate entities only.
What types of business finance can Andal broker?
Three broad areas. Commercial mortgages and real estate finance: owner-occupier mortgages, commercial investment loans, commercial buy-to-let (BTL) and HMO finance, and commercial bridging and property development, all for business and investment purposes only. Corporate debt and cashflow lending: cashflow loans and growth capital. Asset and working capital finance: asset finance, invoice finance, and working capital and unsecured business loans. All finance comes from third-party lenders on our panel; availability and terms are always set by the lender, not by Andal.
What happens after I submit an enquiry?
We start with a short conversation about your business and the funding you're after. From there we approach suitable lenders on your behalf and bring back real options, explained in plain English. The decision on whether to proceed, and with whom, is always yours.
How do I get in touch, and how quickly will you reply?
Start an enquiry through the enquiry page, use the contact form for quick questions, or email contact@andal.uk. We reply the same working day: messages sent outside working hours are picked up first thing the next working day.
How long does it take to get funding in place?
Depends on the finance type and lender. Once we have a clear picture of your business and requirement, initial options are usually back within days. From there, asset and invoice finance can complete in as little as 48 hours; unsecured business loans typically a few days to a couple of weeks; commercial mortgages and property finance longer, as valuations and legal work are involved.
Does my business need trading history to qualify?
Most lenders on our panel look for at least 12 months of trading history and filed accounts, though this varies by product and lender. Some will consider newer businesses depending on the finance type, the security available, and the strength of the wider proposal.
What documents will I need to provide?
Typically the last two to three years' filed accounts, recent business bank statements, and a short summary of what the funding is for. Some lenders ask for management accounts or forecasts too. Exact requirements depend on the finance type and lender; we'll confirm what's needed once we understand your situation.
Can you help if the business has adverse credit or existing debt?
Often, yes. Some lenders on our panel specialise in adverse credit or more complex cases. It doesn't guarantee approval, but going to a panel rather than a single lender directly gives a business more routes to explore.
Am I obliged to accept whatever lender you find, or tied to Andal?
No. We bring back the options we think suit your business, but there is no obligation to proceed with any of them, and no exclusivity tie-in. The decision on whether to go ahead, and with which lender, is always yours.
What does Andal charge me?
Nothing. Our service is free to your business. Andal is paid a fee by the lender when a deal completes, not by you, so there is no cost to your business for using Andal to find finance.
How do you handle my information?
We only ask for what a lender needs to make a decision, and keep it only as long as the deal (and our legal obligations) require. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what we collect and how it is used.
